Description

Optical cork is the highest quality grade natural cork material used primarily in musical instrument repair and manufacturing. Unlike standard natural cork sheets, optical cork is cut so the grain runs across the strip rather than through it. This helps provide a smoother surface, improved flexibility, and more consistent performance in precision applications.

These thin cork strips (approximately 1.5mm or 1/16 inch thick) are cut directly from high-quality cork oak bark, ensuring a dense, uniform structure ideal for instrument components such as clarinet, saxophone, and other woodwind instrument pads, joints, and fittings. Optical cork strips are 100% natural and a truly sustainable, eco-friendly product.

Why Choose Optical Cork?

  • Cross-grain structure: Grain runs across the cork for improved flexibility and smoother operation
  • Instrument-grade quality: Designed specifically for musical instrument repair and manufacturing
  • Consistent density: Provides reliable compression and long-lasting performance
  • Precision material: Ideal for tight-fitting joints and moving components
  • 100% natural cork: Sustainably harvested with no synthetic additives

SOLD PER LINEAR INCH. MINIMUM ORDER IS 25 LINEAR INCHES.
